Disciplines » Kids Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art and combat sport that focuses on grappling and especially ground fighting. It teaches that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger assailant by using leverage and proper technique—most notably by applying joint-locks and choke holds to defeat the other person. In class your child will learn the basics of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and will get to apply them in live grappling situations. He will also learn about the unique history behind Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and its founders and some traditional Brazilian Portuguese terminology unique for the sport. We incorporate elements of Brazilian culture into every class.
Head Instructor – Tomer Litvin, a BJJ Purple belt with 8 years of BJJ experience.
